Justin Zaputil is a native of Mystic, Iowa. He is currently the Owner/President of Joe Zaputil Trucking, Inc, a 16 truck fleet providing flatbed transportation services to all 48 states.
Prior to owning Joe Zaputil Trucking, Inc, Justin worked for HON Industries out of Muscatine, Iowa from 1999 through 2003 and Veritas DGC out of Houston, Texas from 1996 through 1999, serving as a Human Resource Manager for both companies respectively. Justin brings over 15 years of experience working for major U.S. corporations and owning and operating his own business. Justin graduated from The Unviersity of Iowa in 1994 with his B.S. degree and in 1996 with his Master's degree. GAYLON COWANvice chairmanGaylon Cowan is a native of Cincinnati, Iowa. He graduated with honors from the Machine Technology program at Indian Hills Community College.
In 1994, Gaylon started C&C Machining. C&C Machining has grown into a large manufacturing company with over 80 employees operating out of Centerville, Iowa. C&C Machining is an aggressive, family owned company with a commitment to providing customers with top quality products, in a timely, cost-efficient manner. In 2012, Gaylon plans to launch his second start up company, Complete Manufacturing Inc. CMI is a contract manufacturing plant for paint and complete assembly work. It will have a work force of 10-20 employees the first year and also operate out of Centerville, Iowa. Gaylon has been recognized by IHCC as an Outstanding Alumnus. He continues to be an active supporter of his community and surrounding areas. Gaylon is married to Charity and they have 3 children, Tanner, Bryer and Chasity. donald proxtreasurerDon has grown up in southeastern Iowa and calls Ottumwa, Iowa home. He is a 1974 graduate of Ottumwa High School, an Alumni of Indian Hills Community college with an Associate’s degree, and Hold a double major in Accounting and Business Management from William Penn University.
Don served four years of duty in the United States Air Force in the 1970’s. His tours included duty with the Tactical Air Command in Homestead, FL and The Strategic Air Command Murphy Dome, AK. His passion for being a part of the Humble Heroes Foundation is not driven by his past duty, but for those who came before and after him who made sacrifices to defend the American liberties we all enjoy in everyday life. Don enjoys fishing and hunting, but most of all his family. He is married to Linda and has one daughter Starr, a son-in-law Fletcher and two grandchildren Sullivan and Finnegan. charity cowansecretaryCharity Cowan is the wife of Gaylon Cowan, and a resident of Centerville IA. She is the 1990 graduate of Moulton High School, a 1992 Graduate of Indian Hills Community College and later graduated from William Penn University with a B.A. degree in Business Management.
While supporting Gaylon with the start of C & C Machining, Charity worked as a Customer Service Consultant at Alliant Energy, and later working for the non-profit organization The Abilities Fund. When her children started school, she became a stay at home wife and mother, supporting the needs of her family. During this time, she was the leader in many of her children’s organizations, raising funds for the school wrestling program, the football program and softball program. She continues to stay home and help support her children who are now grown, but she has a new passion, helping with the Humble Heroes Foundation. phil keldermanboard memberA native of Oskaloosa, Iowa and Indian Hills alumni, Phil joined the US Army in July of 1986. During his service, Phil achieved rank of Staff Sergeant, multiple service awards and a successful tour overseas as part of Desert Storm. After serving faithfully for 7 years at several duty stations which included Hanau Germany and Ft. Hood, Texas as an Aviation Mechanic and Helicopter Crew Chief, Phil was honorably discharged in 1993.
Upon separating from the service, Phil returned back home to Iowa where he began a successful career in the machining industry starting with Vermeer in Pella, Iowa and then transitioning to his current employment with C & C Machining in Centerville, Iowa where he established himself as a key employee, eventually moving into a machine shop supervisor role. In his spare time, Phil is an avid and successful competitive ATV racer. Vigilant Vets Racing is comprised of Combat Veterans who's mission is to bring awareness to Veteran Suicides, and PTSD. He has 3 grown children, Candis, Crystal and Conner who proudly support their father in his passion for assisting combat veterans acclimating to civilian life. |
Troy r. roachboard memberTroy Roach was one of the founders of The Humble Heroes Foundation. An avid supporter of our military forces, Troy has devoted much of his spare time to ensuring that those who have faithfully served to defend our freedoms are not forgotten. A United States Navy veteran, Troy served during Operation Desert Storm as part of Naval Support Force Antarctica. He was awarded the National Defense Medal, Antarctica Service Medal and a Meritorious Unit Commendation for his service.
Troy is the VP of HSSE at Antero Resources in Denver, Colorado. His business background and community outreach efforts provide him valuable experience with organizational operations and organizing large events - from charity events/galas to Habitat for Humanity projects. An active member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, Troy holds a bachelors degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University and is a Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS). In his spare time he enjoys outdoor activities and motorcycle riding. He also spends time volunteering to support local charity organizations such as Boy Scouts of America, Food Bank of the Rockies and Heart to Heart. dr. timothy peasakboard memberDr. Timothy Peasak is a Board Certified Physician in Emergency Medicine and Aesthetic Medicine and resides in Bridgeport, WV. He was born in Clarksburg, WV and is a Veteran of the US Army and WV National Guard, where he was a 62A, Emergency Medicine Physician for 12 years. He deployed once to Bosnia and Kosovo in 2006, and in 2012 deployed to Khandahar, Afghanistan. Dr. Peasak also has 30 years experience as a Firefighter, and is still on active duty with the Stonewood Fire Department.
Dr. Peasak currently practices Emergency Medicine In West Virginia and Ohio. In addition, he practices Aesthetic Medicine at Rejuvenation Medspa in Bridgeport, West Virginia, a Medical Spa in which he owns. Peasak is also the co-owner and CEO of Bridgeport Express Care and Advantage Occupational Medicine in Bridgeport, West Virginia. Dr. Peasak is married to his wonderful wife Michelle and has one son, Preston. A passionate outdoorsman, he enjoys hunting, fishing and riding ATVs in his spare time. |
